For our owners that enjoy the quiet life but still enjoy the occasional country club amenities, we have created an alliance with Burlingame at Sapphire Lakes. Just a few hundred yards from the entrance to The Preserve, Burlingame is an exquisite country club community located in the beautiful North Carolina Mountains .
Enjoy playing on a top-ranked 18-hold championship golf course, glistening lakes, fast-dry tennis courts, or woods populated with Mountain Laurel and Rhododendron.
Members really enjoy the country club that features a heated pool, pavilion, fitness center, golf course, a newly renovated clubhouse, driving range, trout streams, sports shops, and the Horsepasture River.
Golf
Surrounded by breathtaking views of the mountains, the championship golf course is impeccably kept, and has the best woods and water the area has to offer. Players of all abilities will find the course challenging with its meandering streams and lakes.
Hole #17 is a short but demanding shot across a lake to a well-bunkered green and is the Club's signature hole. The beautifully designed par 72 course is one of the finest and most popular in Western North Carolina.
Members enjoy the convenience of having a fully stocked golf shop featuring all the popular lines of apparel and hard goods. The golf staff is ready to assist guests as well as members in making their golf experience at Burlingame Country Club both memorable and enjoyable.
Fitness Center
The fitness center is available to members twenty-four hours a day and is conveniently located next door to the Club House, adjacent to the Woodstone Grill. State-of-the-art fitness equipment is available including treadmills, stationary and recumbent bikes, and several other pieces of equipment for a complete workout. A personal trainer is availble by appointment to customize a workout regiment specifically for you. For 3 days a week, you can enjoy a relaxing massage by the on-site masseuse.
Tennis
Tennis players will love the convenient location of the four fast-dry courts and one hard court. A ball machine is available for practice along with a backboard. The fast dry courts are groomed daily for players and the tennis shop is open six days a week with merchandise and racquet restringing. Lessons are available by appointment.
Outdoor Sports
Many Burlingame Country Club members are active outdoorsmen. The Burlingame Fishing and Hiking Club offers wonderful opportunities for exploring the surrounding woods and water.
A few of the activities available include fishing for all levels of expertise, group hikes, wildflower and nature walks, social events such as cookouts by the river and new friendships with kindred spirits.
The Horsepasture River, a State Natural and Scenic River, flows along the boundary of Burlingame carrying the clear waters of recently melted snows from faraway.
