The Sapphire / Cashiers area offers many options for live music. Between Asheville & Brevard there is a vast array of music and entertainment. Whether your genre is Blue Grass, Classical, Rock, Country, Jazz, Opera, etc. , you will find it here. The easiest way to find out what’s happening in the area and when it is happening will be to search the internet. I have provided some links below to make your search a bit easier.
Brevard Music Center
Brevard Music Center is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Founded in 1936, the Music Center has become one of this country's finest summer institutes and festival locations.
Asheville is a great spot to visit if you are looking for a diverse selection of music because it is home to a wide range of annual music festivals throughout the year. When planning your visit, be sure to check their website's calendar to confirm festival dates as they may change from year to year.
Asheville's most notable festival is Bele Chere, the largest free street festival in the Southeast. This three-day festival is held annually at the end of July and draws around 300,000 visitors. You will find arts & crafts, food, entertainment, as well as plenty of fun things for children to do.
Lake Edan Arts Festival
The Lake Edan Arts Festival (LEAF) is another Asheville area festival worth mentioning, occurring semi-annually since 1995. This festival has established itself as one of the best festivals in the southeast and is host to international and local music, handcrafts, dancing, cuisine, children's activities, outdoor adventures, drum circles, and much more.
Cashiers, Highlands, and Sylva
Cashiers, Highlands, & Sylva are smaller towns, but still offer a variety of music festivals. Unfortunately, the 3rd Annual Cashiers Mountain Music Festival was July 2nd & 3rd. If you missed it this year, try to make it next year! You can find out more about this area by visiting the links below:
