Welcome to the Preserve at Rock Creek

The Preserve at Rock Creek is a truly amazing tract of Appalachian mountain land. It is located in Transylvania County of North Carolina, approximately 3 miles west of Lake Toxaway and eight miles east of Cashiers. The property's southern boundary runs along US Highway 64, where you turn to enter the property. The entrance is gated and has two decorative ponds, stocked with Rainbow Trout.

Elevation ranges from 2,900' to 4,400'. The eastern part of the property is dominated by a south-to-north ridgeline with long-range southerly views of three states: North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. The dominant feature of the western portion is Rock Creek itself, a fast-flowing mountain stream with a two-stage waterfall.

The property abounds with natural features and a number of diverse ecological areas. You will find natural amenities from aquatic stream beds and waterfalls to hardwood forests and wildflower meadows. There are a number of remarkable large rock outcroppings, cliffs, and caves visible from hiking trails inside the property. Rare plants and truly unique wildlife habitats can be found throughout the property.

Conservation Easements

Conservation easements exceeding two-thirds of The Preserve's 320 acres ensure each lot owner the privacy and security of a home site forever surrounded by land that will never be developed.  The purpose of a conservation easement is designed to restrict certain activities on private land, most commonly some form of development. As the name implies its primary purpose is to conserve natural or man-made resources. Agricultural, forest, historic, and open space are the most common designations for a conservation easement.

The Preserve at Rock Creek provides lot owners with classic mountain home sites as well as ownership in a surrounding conservation area, all in the prestigious North Carolina mountain golf resort region between Lake Toxaway and Cashiers. The home sites, each on 3 to 5 acre estate parcels, have been identified as premier spots for building fine mountain homes with world-class views.

Long-Range Mountain Views at Ridgeline Estate

Ridgeline Estate

Many of The Preserve's estate lots provide room for 2 home sites and are perked for a total of 7 bedrooms.  This allows for the building of an estate home and a guest cottage.

On three of the home sites, we have already built cottages for you to move into immediately while you create plans to build your dream home on the remaining home site.  There is no time limit to build on your home site, nor any requirement to do so.

Bottom Line...

The Preserve at Rock Creek represents far more than mountain lots with a view.  It represents smart investment, smart planning, and a piece of Appalachia preserved forever. This kind of opportunity is becoming increasingly rare.
